Merry Christmas and good luck to all in 2010

We'll need it. The idiots in Congress and in the White House continue to make things worse.

HTDS moving back up

FavStocks: Ameritrade restricts trading of BIEL and HTDS

Interesting article by Nour Douchi on FavStocks about BIEL and HTDS.

THRR at 0.0006

A lot of people seem to think this one may take off soon.

China BAK Battery, Inc. (NASDAQ:CBAK)

I believe CBAK is a solid long-term investment and that we could see CBAK back above $10 a share someday. Here's my post from December 6 about them. They reported a loss in their Q4 but I think that can be mostly attributed to the economic downturn China had. Consumer spending is going up, China's auto industry is young and growing and they will likely be building electric cars on a big scale. CBAK makes batteries for all kinds of consumer items.

Recession Elsewhere, but It’s Booming in China

New York Times article sent to me by a friend on the Chinese market which is “on full tilt" and for the first time, "Chinese will buy more cars this year than Americans".

HTDS releases their Q3

"The company reported gross revenues of $ 481,949.00 for the quarter and the profit was at a break even. The company expects to finish the year in the black or a profit level."

Wait and see what happens in 2010. I'm hanging on but I'm expecting HTDS to stay below a penny for while.

Signs of life at AVAX Technologies, Inc. (OTC:AVXT)

Looks like somebody is still working at AVAX Technologies (OTC: AVXT). The Clinical News links are now finally working on their home page BUT none of their Investor Relations links seem to be working. This company is not doing a very good job of communicating with their shareholders.

Provision Holding Inc (OTC: PVHO)

Here's something different: Provision is in the business of developing 3D holographic display technologies. Currently trading at 0.27

Lifeline Biotech (PINK:LLBO): A crapshoot or a great deal for investors?

Lifeline Biotechnologies is developing a non-imaging technology called First Warning™ for breast cancer detection.

I briefly wrote back in September that people should consider LLBO. The stock is still so cheap that you can get a lot shares for relatively little cost. The potential return is great, even if LLBO reaches just a penny. It may do a lot a better than that. Or it might tank. A lot depends on the FDA which has a bad habit of mucking things up with delays and over-regulation. But I've been buying shares of LLBO here and there with extra money I have available in my Zecco account. I encourage people to do their own research on LLBO and make their own choice.

HTDS down to 0.0074

HTDS issued a press release today:

Hard to Treat Diseases (HTDS.PK) Business Summary Update

SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Hard to Treat Diseases (HTDS.PK) www.htdsmedical.com is using this opportunity to update its followers on the development of several previously announced events, which remain unresolved and or pending. These are Slavica Biochem's move into the Revenue Mode, Slavica's research expansion and pending EU Stem Cell Bank merger, HTDS' Africa Opportunity, HTDS' Pink Sheets "skull and bones" rankings, and the expected Q4 results...

Nothing really bad but nothing really specific here either. Investors, including myself would like to see some cold hard numbers and facts from HTDS. What is their revenue? Where's the Q3? Who is this EU company?

I still like HTDS but we all need to start seeing some more substantial news and info from them. HTDS may stay under a penny for a while and go down even more without material news from them.

Investor's Soup: "Living Dangerously - HTDS"

I want to share this with you. Some highlights:

"I like the company Hard to Treat Diseases, Inc. (HTDS). The name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but I have blogged it in the past (read it here) and it did REALLY well for my readers. My staff also did a “technical trade report” on HTDS back in early November....they have a capital structure as confusing and as byzantine as any I have seen. Their puppet masters, Minamar Group, have got all sorts of preferred, restricted, under-the-table shares that I can’t figure out the capital structure...To me this is only a chart play. Watch to see if the stock holds this resistance and turns positive again. HTDS is very like SPNG. It has such a bloated capital structure that it is almost impossible to move the stock out of sub-penny land. But, it could be a nice play right where it is. "

China BAK Battery (Nasdaq: CBAK)

China BAK Battery (CBAK) is another long-term investment of mine that I have written about previously. The PPS dipped after releasing its 4Q earnings on December 2nd and it is currently trading at $2.72.

CBAK traded as high as $12.50 back in 2006 and China is still a growing country that has yet to peak economically. This is from their web site:

"China BAK Battery, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBAK) is one of the largest manufacturers of lithium-based battery cells in the world, as measured by production output. It produces battery cells that are the principal component of rechargeable batteries commonly used in cellular phones, notebook computers and portable consumer electronics, such as digital media devices, portable media players, portable audio players, portable gaming devices, and PDAs. Recently, China BAK was accepted into the approved vendor list of an international first-tier OEM notebook computer manufacturer. China BAK Battery, Inc.’s 3.0-million-square-foot facilities are located in Shenzhen and Tianjin, PRC, and have been recently expanded to produce new products."

Those new products include electric cars. I want in on that. Buy and hold CBAK.

ECOtality, Inc. (OTC: ETLE)

I've talked about ECOtality in the past and I still believe it's worth keeping eye on. The company recently did a 60 for 1 reverse stock split and the current PPS is $5.60. I suspect the share price will continue to go down in the coming weeks unless there is major news. This is a long-term deal with potential. Keep an eye on Nissan's all-electric car, the Leaf.

Here's a link to what I've written about them in the past.

AVAX Technologies, Inc. (OTC: AVXT)

AVAX Technologies, Inc. (OTC:AVXT) is a biotech that is currently (or was) focused on developing and commercializing its AC Vaccine technology for the treatment of cancer. It's leading drug in the pipeline is (or was) MVax and supposedly in a Phase III Registration trial.

But the company has not issued any recent news or updates. Many of the links on their website do not work and they do seem to respond to inquiries. It doesn't look like the company has issued a press release in over a year. The last news to come from the company was an EDGAR filing back in May.

I have tried to contact the company:

December 3: Sent an email to John Prendergast, Chairman of the Board of AVAX about the non-working links and lack of news from the company. No response so far.

November 12?: The web site has not been updated. I called the main number again a few times and could not reach a live person. I left a voice mail of their Quality Assurance guy (couldn't catch his name) and asked him or someone else to call me back about the website and lack of news. No response.

November 4: Called the main number at 215-241-9760. The woman who answered said they were "working on" the non-working links on their site. I wish now I had called from my home instead of from the store. Could have have a had a longer conservation in peace.

Here's a link to a post on November 4th I wrote about AVXT on this.

At the moment, I will continue to hold on to my AVXT shares but I don't think I'll buy more until the company provides an update or if there any significant news from a news source. I'm just not feeling very confident about AVXT at the moment but that doesn't mean things can suddenly change. All it would take is one new release from the company with positive news or an update from the FDA.

By the way here's an optimistic item on AVXT that StocksHaven published a couple of months ago.

Here's a direct link to the entire text.

New blog site, my man

I've decided to leave MyManHeb and start a whole new blog, my man. Why maintain a blog with a loser ticker symbol like HEB in its name?
